Richmond’s First Doggie Ice Cream Bar is Opening!

Are you ready Richmond Virginia doggie moms and dads? Salty Paws RVA is now open! Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the soft opening of Richmond's newest canine culinary haven, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of epic. Located just a stone's throw away from Ray's Ice Cream, this place is a dream come true for all the four-legged friends in our lives. I mean, seriously, what's better than enjoying a scoop of ice cream with your pup on a warm summer evening? This might be one of the best new dog friendly places to take your pup in Richmond VA.

The Doggie Ice Cream Bar has quite the menu, featuring flavors such as peanut butter, blueberry, pumpkin, maple bacon, and more. There’s also delightful topping options such as beef, chicken and duck to make your pups ice cream extra special. And for those days when you want something a little different than ice cream, they also have a super cute bakery featuring doggie donuts and adorable cookies. Trust me, these treats are almost too cute to eat...almost. There’s also a whole wall of delicacies to take home for them to chew on later!

Now, let's take a moment to talk about the folks behind this brilliant canine culinary venture. Salty Paws, which originally hails from the sunny shores of Rehoboth Beach have made quite a name for themselves on the East Coast with several locations. We're fortunate to have them join us right here in Richmond.

What I find particularly exciting about the Doggie Ice Cream Bar is that it's not just a regular pitstop. It's an experience. It’s a wonderful experience on any given day. But, imagine celebrating your fur baby's birthday in style! That's right – you can host a birthday party right here. Picture a bunch of happy pups, a smorgasbord of doggie ice cream flavors, and a whole lot of tail-wagging fun. It's bound to be a memory that both you and your furry friend will cherish forever. (And imagine capturing the fun on camera! Be on the lookout for information about birthday photography options!)

So, whether it's a lazy Sunday, a special occasion, or just a regular ol' weekday, the Doggie Ice Cream Bar is now your go-to spot for treating your canine companions to a sweet and memorable time. I can't wait to see you all there, sharing smiles, wagging tails, and indulging in the simple pleasure of a good scoop of ice cream. Richmond just got a little bit sweeter – for both dogs and their humans!
