A Pet Friendly Day Exploring Long Beach & Redondo Beach

Of course I love traveling and what’s better than traveling with my pups? I also just love exploring nearby places looking for fun things to do with the dogs. On my last trip to Cali, I decided to explore a few pet friendly places south of L.A. I was staying in Redondo beach and made a day trip down to Long Beach. I didn’t have my dogs with me on this trip to California. But, for those traveling with their dogs, or living nearby these are a few great places to check out!

Seashore Fur Babies Redondo Beach

Miramar Park & Esplanade. I started the day taking a stroll along the Esplanade to Miramar Park in Redondo Beach. This path along the street follows the shoreline with pretty views and lots of people walking dogs to meet. It makes for a great morning walk with the pups.

Seashore Fur Babies. After walking around the Esplanade, I made my way to Seashore Fur Babies. This is a super cute pet boutique close to the beach within walking distance from the Esplanade. Here, your pup will enjoy browsing yummy treats, unique toys and of course meet their owner Tater Tot.

Rosies Dog Beach Long Beach CA

Rosies Dog Beach. After exploring Redondo Beach, I drove about 45 minutes south to Long Beach to check out Rosies Dog Beach. I mean, a beach for dogs sounds like a little slice of heaven to me. It did not disappoint. My two girls love the beach. Not the water though. They will run in the sand, but steer clear of the waves. It just makes my day to see dogs who like the water having the time of their life splashing away. There were plenty of dogs here who were doing just that. Frolicking, playing, chasing balls into the water and then relaxing. If your pup likes the sand or waves, Rosie’s Dog Beach might be a good place to check out. There are a few things to be aware of before visiting. This is an off leash beach. So, if your dog is reactive or not used to being around other dogs, this might not be the best for them. As with any time you take your pup to the beach just be aware of the heat and the sand. If your pup ends up ingesting too much sand, it could lead to a sand impaction. So, just be aware of eating food left in the sand, or retrieving too many balls covered in sand.

Dog at Monkish Brewing Torrance CA

Monkish - After leaving the beach, it was time to relax, grab a beer and some food. So, on the way heading back toward Redondo Beach, I stopped in Torrance to visit Monkish Brewing Co. They have a cute tasting room and nice outdoor area that’s pet friendly. They had a food truck there as well, where I was able to get a delicious pizza. It was a nice and relaxing place to stop and enjoy a beer at the end of the day.

That about sums up my pet friendly day exploring Redondo Beach and Long Beach. Do you know of other great spots you like to take your dogs? If so, please share them with me!
