Dog Friendly Brewery in Richmond VA

It’s a great feeling when we can leave the house for some fun and exploration and be able to bring our best friend with us. (It sure beats “THE LOOK” you get from them as you walk out the door, am I right?) So, to help you get out and explore with your pet here is a list of 10 pet friendly places around the Richmond VA area. (Please call ahead to confirm pet policies, as they can change rapidly.)

Breweries & Bars

Main Line Brewing - 1603 Ownby Ln (Scott’s Addition)

They have an amazing outdoor space with games and a stage for entertainment. Dogs are also allowed inside of the brewery if the weather is such that you don’t want to be outside.

Canon & Draw Brewing - 1529 W Main St (The Fan)

They have a nice laid-back atmosphere with games. Dogs are also always welcome here inside the brewery.

Ruff Canine Club - 11924 Ellen Rd (Scott’s Addition)

This is the only dog park bar in Richmond! Your dog gets to play, while you do too!

Wineries

Brambly Park Urban Winery - 1708 Belleville St (Scott’s Addition)

Sitting on 2 acres in downtown Richmond, they have plenty of outdoor space, games and entertainment for a grand time. They are dog friendly and provide a water dish and lots of options for places to sit. They have a lounge area as well as a game area and stage with entertainment.

Blue Bee Cider - 1320 Summit Ave (Scott’s Addition)

Dog friendly inside and out, this place will satisfy your pallet for cider and your dogs pallet for getting out of the house no matter the weather! They also often host events.

Restaurants

Oak & Apple - 1814 E Main St (Shockoe Bottom)

Bring your four-legged friends by to say hello! They have a rotating selection of dog treats and a dog friendly patio with tables and corn hole boards so your four legged friends never have to leave your side.

Casa Del Barco - 320 S 12th St (Canal Walk / Central Office District)

If you’re craving Mexican, this is the place to go with your dog. Their downtown canal walk location is dog friendly on their “puppy patio.” Then you can go on a walk down the canal walk!

Shopping

Stony Point Fashion Park

This outdoor mall has a dog park and water bowls outside of many stores. It’s a great place to walk around with your pet and let them play in the small dog park area. Each store has it’s own pet policy. So check with each store before entering.

RVA Big Market

Just as the name implies, this is the largest farmers market in Richmond! Located in Bryan Park on the north end of town, it happens every Saturday from 8am -12pm. They are dog friendly. The park is also beautiful. So after shopping you can take a stroll with your dog through the park.

Carytown

My dog Hannah loves walking down Cary Street. in Carytown. The thing she likes best is going into all of the stores! (I call her a little diva. She loves shopping). I’ve found that most stores in Carytown are happy to see her and welcome us in to browse. Hannah’s nose has brought me to several neat stores here.

Hotels

Graduate Richmond - 301 W Franklin St (Monroe Ward)

This highly acclaimed hotel isn’t just pet friendly. They love pets! After checking in and giving them some information about your dog, the hotel staff will deliver a custom BarkBox to your door filled with Graduate-themed toys, treats, and bones, as well as a water bowl and blanket for you to use during your stay.

The Great Outdoors

Texas Beach - Northbank Trail (James River)

If you and your dog like being outside, swimming and hiking, then head over to Texas Beach & Trails. Set on the James River, there is opportunity for swimming and hanging out in nature.
