Today it begins. The start of the Beloved Pet & Equine Photography Blog. In this blog I will be posting things like session highlights, personal work I’ve been doing as well as generally helpful information having to do with your pets and horses. There will be things like treat recipes, tips, discoveries and pictures!

I am going to kick off the blog with a couple vintage photos of my past best friends, who are no longer with us physically but will always be in my heart. These are the animals I was obsessed with and the one’s who made my love for furry things grow even more over the years…

Growing up, BJ a bichon frise was my first dog. At the age of 8, after just about eight years of asking for a dog, my mom came home with this little bundle of joy (which is how she got the name BJ… Bundle of Joy)

When I was 11 we adopted Herculese… SHE was a rare white akita and the best dog a teenage girl could ask for. (Yes my brother wanted a dog named Herculese, regardless of the dog’s gender.) To me she was Hercy.

When I got to college I adopted Keke…a.k.a the best bun the world has ever seen! (he’s the tri-colored handsome fella on the left.) Then came Rosie, the shy girl on the right.

In college I also adopted Ralph…a goofy Maine Coon cat, who was also the best.

Looking through these images made me realize just how much I miss them and the profound effect these animals have had in my life. I wish I had thought about what it would be like when they were gone. These are just about the only pictures I have to remember them by. I wish I had taken more, printed more, had more professional ones where you could really see their personalities and even had a video of each one of them. I would treasure these if I had them today.
